Minecraft fans, get ready to live inside the game. Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have confirmed that the world's first Minecraft-themed hotel will open at Chessington World of Adventures in southwest London in 2027. It's part of a larger $66 million project called Minecraft World, which also includes the first-ever Minecraft theme park.

The hotel will sit right next to the park, so you can roll out of bed and straight into the blocky action. It will have 20 premium rooms and 49 standard rooms spread across four floors. Every corner is designed to feel like you've stepped into the game, from the Overworld-inspired check-in area with blocky trees and animals to Nether Portal-style lifts and mine tunnel corridors.

Daisy Mercedes, Creative Producer at Merlin Entertainments, said the team wanted fans to "respawn exactly where they want to be." She added that every detail, from the rooms to the corridors, has been crafted with love for the game and its community. The hotel will also feature an immersive restaurant and a woodland mansion-inspired potion bar, where you can sip drinks in a setting straight out of your favorite survival world.

The announcement follows the earlier reveal of Minecraft World, which is set to open in 2027 as well. The park will include the Escape the Nether rollercoaster, a block-building area for younger kids, themed dining, and dedicated Minecraft shops. Filip Keatley Thoms, Creative Lead for Minecraft Parks and Experiences at Mojang Studios, said the team has thought about everything from the scale of the blocks to how mobs and biomes come to life in the real world.

If you're planning a trip, Chessington World of Adventures is about a 35-minute direct train ride from London Waterloo. Booking online is recommended to skip queues and snag discounts of up to 50%. For those who want to be first in line, a waitlist is already open on the official Minecraft World page.

This isn't the only reason to head to London in the coming years. The city is also hosting the Bayeux Tapestry, which is drawing crowds, and a new faster train to Antwerp is making European getaways easier. But for gamers, this hotel is the real headline.

Exact opening dates for both the park and the hotel haven't been announced yet, but both are expected to welcome guests sometime in 2027. Until then, you can start planning your blocky escape and dream of sleeping in a world where creepers are just decorations and the only thing you need to mine is a good night's rest.
