Edge NYC, perched on the 100th and 101st floors of 30 Hudson Yards, already held the title of highest indoor-outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere. Now it's pushing the envelope even further. In June 2026, the venue welcomed seven brand-new art installations designed by creative studios Softlab and Moment Factory, transforming what was already a spectacular observation deck into something closer to an immersive art experience.
The headline installation is Kaleidoscope, claimed to be the largest of its kind in New York City. Step inside and you're enveloped in constantly shifting patterns of light, color, sound, and reflection. Patrick Bisson, creative director at Moment Factory, explains the philosophy: "The goal was to design an interior experience that acts as a mirror to the city's dynamic nature. By treating the space as a prism that refracts New York's radiant energy, we provide a distinct sensory engagement that complements the outdoor sky deck." The installation uses highly reflective architectural surfaces paired with digital media to create that prismatic effect.
Beyond the main kaleidoscope, Edge now features smaller kaleidoscope installations inspired by street photography and urban geometry. One was specifically designed to capture the texture and character of the city itself, weaving together architectural patterns with iconic landmark imagery.
A Sensory Journey That Changes With the Light
The other six installations round out the experience across seasons and weather conditions. Pulse uses over 350 illuminated spheres to create a unique encounter for every visitor. Skyrise transforms the elevator ride itself into a fully immersive experience. All seven works were built around Edge's defining architectural language, triangular forms and extensive use of glass and light, according to Olivia Reid, strategy and creative lead at experience agency Journey, who oversaw the project.
The 360-degree outdoor sky deck remains the star attraction, featuring glass floors, tilted glass walls, and iconic skyline steps that let you step out into the New York panorama. Similar to how Paris screens films hundreds of feet above the city, Edge offers a completely different way to experience your destination from on high.
Dining and Access
The venue now includes Skyline Bar & Cafe by Tao, serving food and drinks inspired by New York's culinary traditions. One level up sits Peak with Priceless and Avenue Sky Lounge, also managed by Tao Group Hospitality.
Tickets start at $34 (€30) when booked online at least 14 days in advance, though fees apply at checkout.
